Marshall Football: Donquell “Gator” Green Commits to Herd

The train of Georgia recruits to Marshall picked up another passenger this afternoon when Donquell Green gave a verbal commitment to the Thundering Herd.

Green was a dynamic athlete at Burke County High School, playing a number of positions including quarterback. During his junior season, Green rushed for 1,827 yards and 32 touchdowns on 177 carries. He also passed for 1,399 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions.  As a senior he was named to Georgia’s AAAA All-State First Team at the athlete position.

Standing 5-foot-8, 160 lbs., Green prefers to go by his nickname “Gator”. Besides Marshall, he also had scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, North Carolina, and Middle Tennessee.
